Did you know that Rig Ministries, has chapel services every day (well Monday through Friday) in the upper room, Carmi Illinois? From 12:30 til 1:00 pm.
And furthermore did you know you are always welcome, to drop by. Truck driver, tourist, housewives are all welcome. I know because they welcomed me a couple weeks ago. Also did you know those folks have a prayer list. They pray for needs on this list, everyday, at approximately 1:00 pm central time? And that you could too, if you would stop what you are doing for a brief few seconds each day through the week and pray for the needs on their list and those kind folks in Carmi that are doing the same. I set an alarm on my cell phone to alert me each of those days at 12:50 pm. And it works. Whether I am driving, or working outdoors, I get the alarm. So far, my phone has reminded me at 12:50, 5 days a week, to slow down and pray for all those folks in the upper room, as well as all the prayer request being presented for prayer.

02-28-2016 ..."Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes." Revelation 18:4There is a day when God is going to judge the system of Babylon around the world. What is Babylon? Babylon is a system of doing business. The stronghold of the workplace is mammon and pride. Dependence on money and misplaced trust are at the core of a Babylonian philosophy of life. Revelation 18 describes a time when God will judge this Babylonian system. It is the one place that we see a system destroyed in one day, even one hour. I do not believe Babylon is a particular city, but a world system. "Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her" (Rev. 18:8a). "Woe! Woe, O great city, O Babylon, city of power! In one hour your doom has come!"(Rev. 18:10b). As Christian workplace believers we are called to acknowledge the signs of the times. When the Soviet Union fell, many knew it was going to happen because they could recognize the signs of the times. God has a way of shaking things up. These shakings force us to determine who and what we will place our trust in. God says that we are to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" (Mt. 22:37). Are you still living in Babylon in the way you do business? If so, expect to share in the sins of Babylon when God decides to judge her. Ask God to show you where you might be operating in a "Babylonian" system of work. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
I have this old pair of boots that I like to wear and they are very comfortable. I polished them and put a real good shine on them the other day and everywhere I went people commented on my boots, how good looking they were. Just the day before no one even noticed them they were just another old pair of boots. Then God started showing me that is the way Christian’s are, sometimes we get a little too comfortable in our walk with Him! We need to put a little shine in our walk! Jesus wants us to be a witness. His word tells us to go out into the highways and hedges and compel people to come in so that His house will be filled. We are to go into all the world and to preach the Gospel! The best sermon we have is our testimony of how God has changed our lives. When is the last time someone ask you if you was a Christian? When was the last time you shared your testimony or your faith with someone that you just met or better yet someone that you may have known all your life and they just need Jesus in their life. Jesus says we are to let our light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. I remember a time when I was a young Christian we had a group of singers come to our Church and when this group came in you could just see Jesus shinning in each one of them. They had the anointing of God all over them and I just wanted to stand close to them hoping some of that anointing would spill out on me. That is the kind of Christian I want to be! The choice is ours, and the way we keep that shine is just like you keep a good shine on an old pair of boots. It takes polish, a good brush and good shinning rag and a little bit of work. It takes work, to put a little shine in our Christian walk too! We have to read our Bibles every day, we have to pray every day. We need to fellowship with other Christian believers every chance we get. If we will do that the shine we put out will be worth the effort. Truck Driver Tax Deductions Tax Deductions Truck Drivers MissTruck drivers, either owner/operators or company drivers, have a number of deductions and allowances available to them. When you do your own taxes or have them done by a tax preparer that is not familiar with the trucking industry some of the deductions for truck drivers may be missed. Small items are sometimes missed due the the truck driver not saving receipts or thinking they are too small to count. These small items add up over a year to hundreds of dollars in truck driver tax deductions. Getting yourself a large envelope to put these small item receipts in can save you a lot of money during tax time. ![]()
